Premier League outfield players with at least 180 league minutes and 10 take-on attempts this season, ranked by completed take-ons. Updates every night · refreshed 4 October 2026.

What the numbers mean

A take-on is an attempt to beat a defender who is trying to stop it, and the completed count is the purest dribbling number there is. Volume alone flatters the players who are told to run at people; the pairing that matters is volume with a success rate, because every failed take-on is a turnover.

The bars put each player against every Premier League outfield player with 180 minutes and 10 attempts: completed take-ons per 90, attempts per 90 for the appetite, the success rate for the risk, and fouls won per 90, which is the hidden value of a dribbler defenders cannot deal with. A full bar means the top of that group.

The list rebuilds every night from the latest matches, so it will move as the season goes on. The date on each card says when it last changed.

What is a take-on?

An attempt to dribble past an opponent who is trying to stop it. A completed take-on means the player got past; a failed one means the defender won the ball or the move broke down.

Why is the success rate on the card?

A player who attempts 8 take-ons a game and completes 3 loses the ball 5 times, which is a different player from one who attempts 4 and completes 3. The rate says how much risk comes with the volume.

How often does it update?

Every night, from the latest matches. The order, the cards and the table rebuild together, and the date on each card says when the list last changed.

Reading the list

Read the success rate before the total. A player completing 6 of 10 take-ons a game is a weapon; one completing 6 of 14 is giving the ball away 8 times, and coaches notice. Fouls won per 90 is the quiet number: a dribbler who draws fouls is winning free kicks and yellow cards for his team even when he does not get past. Each name opens a full FDscout profile with the take-on numbers by match.
